According to Idaho State Police, two Eastern Idahoans were injured in a multi-vehicle crash along U.S. Highway 91 south of Idaho Falls around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday.
Rebecka Tolliver, 31, of Shelley, was traveling in the southbound lane of traffic in a 2001 GMC Sierra pickup when troopers say she failed to maintain her lane and crossed into the center turn lane. Her vehicle reportedly collided with a 2000 Ford Taurus driven by Ty Pope, 32, of Idaho Falls. Â
Two other motorists swerved to avoid the accident and ended up deviating from the roadway in doing so. Kent Carlson, 71, of Shelley, who was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300, and Irinda Passino, 33, of Shelley, who was driving a 2003 Toyota Prius, were not injured. However, their vehicles sustained damage on impact.
Both Tolliver and Pope were transported by ground ambulance to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
ISP officials indicated that all parties were wearing their seat belts.Â
