IDAHO FALLS — Heather L. Wolff, 30, of Idaho Falls, was arrested last Saturday and charged with burglary and petty theft after police say she was caught stealing $132 in merchandise from Smith’s Food & Drug Center, 400 S. Woodruff Ave.

    According to the police report, a Smith’s employee contacted police on March 23 after Wolff left the store with stolen merchandise.

    It is alleged that she returned to the store in an attempt to return the merchandise for cash. Employees weren’t able to detain Wolff.

    Idaho Falls Police Department officials say she was later identified.

    Jerry Perez, 33, of Mesa, Ariz., faces a similar charge. He was cited for burglary and grand theft last Friday after he was caught stealing and selling video games, according to police. The man was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

    According to the police reports, IFPD officers were dispatched to the Walmart located at 500 Utah Ave. around 3 p.m. in reference to an individual stealing video games and then selling them at the nearby Game Stop store.

    While searching for Perez, officers located his vehicle and found multiple stolen items inside including: DVDs, a watch, neck ties, batting gloves and bicycles.

The total value of items was over $1,300, according to police. They say a majority of the items were taken from Walmart.

    IFPD officers say they eventually found Perez hiding in bushes near the Interstate-15 ramp at Broadway Avenue.

    Both individuals were taken to the Bonneville County Jail.
