POCATELLO — Police arrested two women Friday morning after they gave officers false information during a traffic stop.

According to police, Brontee Dominique Sherer and Jennifer Lee Orr, were in a vehicle that was stopped in the 600 block of E. Center St. The vehicle was stopped for having expired registration.

The driver identified herself by presenting an Idaho driver’s license with the name Alyssa Sherer. The officer noticed that the photo on the license did not look like the driver of the vehicle. The officer ran a records check on the vehicle and discovered it was registered to Brontee Sherer. Using a driver’s license photo on record for Brontee Sherer, the officer was able to confirm that she was the actual driver of the vehicle. Brontee Sherer admitted that she had given officers her sister’s license because she knew that her driver’s license was suspended. She was arrested for providing false information to police.

The passenger in the vehicle, identified as Jennifer Lee Orr, was arrested for failing to produce identification while in possession of alcohol and providing false information to police. It was also discovered that Orr had a no bond warrant for her arrest out of Oneida County.

Both Sherer and Orr were taken to the Bannock County Jail and incarcerated.
