BLACKFOOT — An 18-year-old student was hit while walking in a crosswalk in front of Blackfoot High School on Friday.

Sgt. Todd Myler with the Blackfoot Police Department said Cheyenne Pendlebury was walking in the crosswalk around 7 a.m. when she was struck by a car driven by Sean Bystrom, 48.

The teen, who reportedly sustained a broken arm among other injuries, was transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center on Friday, Myler said. She has since been discharged, according to hospital officials.

Bystrom was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and failing to carry proof of liability insurance, Myler said.
