CHUBBUCK — The redevelopment of the Pine Ridge Mall is well underway with a new building being constructed for one tenant and everyone eagerly awaiting the arrival of retail giant Target.

The mall’s Target store is going to be built in the area of the now demolished JC Penney.

Sources close to the mall’s redevelopment said construction of the Target could begin in early 2026 with the store likely opening in early 2027.

Meanwhile, the mall’s Buckle clothing store temporarily moved from its location in the mall to the former C-A-L Ranch building when the demolition of the mall began earlier this summer.

The Buckle’s new stand-alone building is currently under construction near Panera Bread with an opening hoped for by late 2025.

The demolition work on the mall has been completed with construction now focused on preparing the various lots for incoming businesses.

Although much of the mall has been flattened, its largest tenants including C-A-L Ranch, Big Deal Outlet, Planet Fitness, Gem Prep Pocatello Charter School and Hobby Lobby remain and will continue to anchor the redeveloped mall.

The mall’s new owner, SimonCRE, a national development and acquisition firm headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, plans to transform the mall property into a massive outdoor shopping venue.

More announcements about incoming businesses at the redeveloped Pine Ridge Mall are expected in the months to come so stay tuned.
