FORT HALL — For the fourth time in two months a suspicious fire has gutted a structure on the Fort Hall Reservation, according to the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes.

The most recent blaze occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday when Fort Hall firefighters were dispatched to a residential fire at 319 Hiline Road, the Tribes said in a recent press release.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the home to be abandoned and unoccupied with fire coming from the front door. The home was a total loss though no injuries occurred as a result of the blaze.

Fort Hall Fire & EMS is working with the Fort Hall Police Department and the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s office to investigate the suspicious blaze.

“We recommend looking out for your neighbor’s home if you know they are gone or let a family or friend check on your home while on vacation for anything suspicious while you are away,” said Fort Hall Fire Chief Eric King.

This is the fourth suspicious fire to have occurred in Fort Hall since March 3. All of these fires have been reported in homes or RVs that have been left vacant or are homes that the occupants still reside in but have been absent from for some time, the Tribes said.
