POCATELLO — Zachary Lee Davis, 21, of Pocatello, was arrested last Friday and charged with grand theft.

According to Pocatello Police Department officials, Davis was already in custody at the Bannock County Jail as he was being questioned for allegedly cashing in stolen checks. The grand theft charges were added to the forgery-related citations.

Furthermore, authorities say Davis had several felony warrants out for his arrest. PPD officers were assisted by U.S. Marshals to bring him in for questioning.

Samantha Marie Kukkonen Peterson, 19, of Pocatello, was taken into custody last Saturday. She faces one count of aggravated battery and was cited for allegedly passing checks without sufficient funds in March. The battery incident stemmed from an incident that occurred on April 12, according to police.

In addition, a Gate City man faces a drug-related charge. Peter Franklin Mitchell, 22, was arrested following a routine traffic stop.

Courtney Megan Morgan, 22, of Fort Hall, was arrested Sunday around 2:40 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Officials say she was also cited and released for driving with an open container of alcohol inside, driving without privileges and failing to stop at stop sign.

All individuals, excluding Davis, were transported to the Bannock County Jail.
