Watch for our Command Trailer parked in the front parking lot of the Police Department on Saturday, September 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please do not bring syringes, IV bags or medical waste. Liquid medicines are OK if lids are on tight and the container is not leaking. We do still accept prescriptions for disposal during regular business hours in our front lobby.

The goal of this program is to give citizens a safe and secure location to dispose of unused, unwanted or expired prescription medicine. Throwing medicines in the trash or flushing them down the toilet can be an environmental hazard. Most abused prescription drugs come from family and friends. You could be a drug dealer and not even know it. Clear out your cabinets of unused medicines and protect yourself, your family and the environment. For the calendar year, Pocatello Police have taken in 765 pounds of prescriptions that have been shipped to a medical waste disposal facility that safely incinerates the prescriptions.
