POCATELLO  — School District 25 has selected Molly Johnson as the new principal of Greenacres Elementary School, the district announced Monday.

Johnson brings 10 years of experience in the district, most recently serving as assistant principal at Alameda Middle School. She previously served as department chair of special education at Pocatello High School.

She holds an undergraduate degree in special education and a master's degree in educational administration, both from Idaho State University. During her career, Johnson has taken on a range of leadership roles, including new teacher mentor, building leadership team member and district special education committee participant.

"Molly has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, a commitment to educational excellence, and a passion for supporting learners and staff," said School District 25 Superintendent Dr. Douglas Howell. "Her experience as both an educator and administrator has prepared her well for this role, and we are excited to see her build strong partnerships with learners, staff, and families."

Johnson replaces Dr. Joel Wilson, who has served as principal since July 2022 and is leaving to become superintendent of another Idaho school district. The transition takes effect July 1.
