Michael Lockhart

   POCATELLO — The individual who was involved in a car accident last Saturday night in which a silver Jeep left the roadway and struck a cement barrier in the area of South Grant Avenue and the old Bannock Highway faces criminal charges.

    Pocatello Police Department officials further indicated that Michael Veryl Lockhart, 50, of Pocatello, had a blood alcohol content of .251 at the time of the crash. He is charged with felony driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

    According to the police report, Lockhart was found lying on the ground upon arrival. Witnesses told officers they saw a Jeep coming from South Grant turn onto the Bannock Highway at a high rate of speed before hitting the barrier.

    Lockhart was taken to Portneuf Medical Center to be checked out before he was  placed under arrest. He was taken to the Bannock County Jail.
