POCATELLO — The Bannock County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed Friday afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle on Interstate 15 in south Pocatello.
Authorities identified the victim as Tyeson Iverson, 31, of Pocatello. Next of kin has been notified, the coroner’s office said.
Idaho State Police responded to the fatal crash at 2:51 p.m. Friday on northbound I-15 near the South Fifth Street exit at milepost 67 in Bannock County.
Iverson was riding a 2021 Indian Motorcycle Chieftain northbound when he lost control for unknown reasons, struck a guardrail and came to rest on the right shoulder, authorities said. He was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.
Northbound I-15 was closed for approximately two and a half hours following the crash.
“My heart goes out to Tyeson’s family and friends, and I’m so very sorry for their loss,” Bannock County Coroner Torey Danner said.
Idaho State Police were assisted by the Pocatello Fire Department, Pocatello Police Department, Bannock County Sheriff’s Office, Bannock County Search and Rescue, Bannock County Coroner’s Office and the Idaho Transportation Department.
The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
