AMERICAN FALLS — A 52-year-old female bicyclist was injured Friday night in a collision with an SUV at an American Falls intersection, Idaho State Police said.

The crash occurred at 8:20 p.m. at Pocatello Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue.

A teenager driving southbound on Hillcrest Avenue in a 2005 Lexus RX struck the bicyclist, who was heading westbound on Pocatello Avenue, state police said.

The bicyclist was reportedly not wearing a helmet. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.

Her name hasn’t been released but state police said she is from American Falls.

The collision remains under investigation by state police.

Power County Ambulance, Power County Sheriff’s Office and American Falls Police Department assisted at the scene.
