BOISE — A fantasy Blackjack scratch game paid off in the amount of $50,000 for an Idaho Lottery winner from Pocatello, and there is still time for nonwinning ticket holders to vie for a free trip to Las Vegas.

    Brian Willams claimed the last top prize associated with Scratch Game Fantasy Blackjack on Thursday.  

     The ticket was purchased at the Maverik Country Store at 855 E. Alameda Road in Pocatello. The Maverik will receive a bonus of $5,000 from the Idaho Lottery.

     With Williams claiming the last Scratch Game Fantasy Blackjack top prize, the game has officially ended.   

     However, Fantasy Blackjack has a second-chance draw in which nonwinning players can enter for a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas. Players wishing to enter their nonwinning tickets have until March 26 at noon. The winner will be announced by 3 p.m. Mountain Time on March 31.

    “We’ve seen a lot of activity and enthusiasm, not for only our Scratch Games in the past two weeks, but also for the Mega Millions jackpot, which is $270 million for (Friday night’s) draw,” said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery director.

    “We’re encouraging everyone to play responsibly and to sign their tickets prior to presenting them for payment,” he added.

    A woman from Hailey also claimed her prize Thursday afternoon —  a $100,000 winning Idaho Lottery Scratch GameTM 10x the Money ticket.

    “This is for our new house!” exclaimed Sonia Landeros when the check was handed over.

    “We’re also putting this toward paying some bills and then going on a much-needed vacation to Disneyland,” she added.

    Landeros, an occasional Idaho Lottery player, purchased her winning ticket at Guffy’s in Bellevue.

      For their part in selling the winning ticket, Guffy’s receives a $10,000 bonus from the Idaho Lottery.
