PRESTON —The Franklin County Republican committee has selected Bannock County deputy prosecutor Vic Pearson to be on the November ballot for the Republican Prosecuting Attorney position in that county.

    Pearson lost a Republican primary election for the Bannock County Prosecuting Attorney on the November ballot to Kent Reynolds.

    A chance to fill the ballot on the Republican ticket for prosecutor in Franklin County opened up when Todd Garbett removed his name from the ballot Sept. 7, one day after accepting a judgeship position.

     During a Monday meeting the GOP committee interviewed five applicants to fill this position. Three Franklin County attorneys and two from Bannock County were interviewed.

    Pearson began working for the Bannock County Prosecutor’s Office in February of 2003 and began serving as the Chief Deputy Prosecutor in May 2006 where he has held that title since.
