POCATELLO - Barbara Morgan showed an artist's rendering depicting an astronaut looking across a red-sanded landscape.

It was a picture of Mars.

Though humans have yet to make the journey to Mars, Morgan noted that today's school-age children could be the first ones to step foot onto the planet that has been the subject of much speculation.

Morgan, a career educator who spent a decade as a NASA astronaut, spoke of recent space-travel projects and shared her experience living on the international space station during a visit to Idaho State University Thursday evening.
