Officials with the National Weather Service forecast office in Pocatello say people should expect more rain and snow — in the higher elevations — today and Wednesday. 

Officials have issued a hazardous weather outlook for most of East Idaho, including Pocatello, Blackfoot, Preston, Montpelier, Malad City, Soda Springs and American Falls. Meteorologist Bob Survick said a low-pressure system moving through the area will cause more rain to fall on Tuesday, and some of the higher elevations could see a combination of rain and snow. 

There will be a slight chance of rain and snow on Thursday, but mainly in the areas around the Montana and Wyoming border, according to the hazardous weather outlook. 

Officials also issued a weather advisory for Central and East Central Idaho on Monday evening due to snow and wind gusts on Highway 93, between Mackay and Challis, which were expected to cause slick roads. And there was a wind advisory in effect for South Central Idaho, including Malad and Oakley, on Monday.
