Authorities took Shawn Dale Heath, 46, into custody last Saturday and charged him with second degree kidnapping and aggravated battery after he allegedly struck a woman with a rifle and held her against her will in Bonneville County.

The alleged victim, a 42-year-old woman from Rigby, dialed 911 and stated she had been struck with the butt of a rifle in the chest and then held against her will inside a recreational vehicle that was parked at 12042 North 115 East.

According to a Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office report, the woman said at 1:30 a.m. she and Heath had gotten into an argument. She said Heath pushed her down on the couch, and after a brief struggle, he left only to return with a rifle.

The woman stated that she asked Heath to leave but that he would not. She said he yelled at her for several hours and, eventually, asked her to leave.

Deputies said they responded to the recreation vehicle where the two were staying after receiving the 911 call and that Heath was arrested without incident. He was taken to the Bonneville County Jail.
