Lava Hot Springs Inn Mineral Water has found a big new customer in America's largest retail chain.

That's right — the famous mineral water from the local resort town is now available on the shelves of Walmart locations across the country.

George Katsilometes, owner of the brand, said his bottled water is available at Walmart stores in many states, including Texas, Kentucky and New Jersey.

The water — sourced from the geothermal well at the Lava Hot Springs Inn that Katsilometes owns — is trucked to his facility at the Titan Center in north Pocatello. There, it's bottled, packed into boxes and shipped to Walmart.

"(We) take these bottles and put them in boxes for Walmart," Katsilometes said. "We put them on pallets and ship them off."

The company has been in business for about three years now and started selling to Walmart fairly recently. Everyone at the company is excited to have their water being sold by a big business like Walmart. 

Katsilometes said they are glad that Walmart is stocking their water and the deal has only had a few ups and downs so far as they get used to working with each other.

Looking ahead, Katsilometes said there are more plans in the works for Lava Hot Springs Inn Mineral Water, including expanding their customer base in other parts of the country.

"We've had orders now from a fellow in Alaska," Katsilometes said. "He wants our water."

The company has also been talking with Sprouts, a national supermarket chain, and Katsilometes is trying to make Lava Hot Springs Inn Mineral Water available in stores in nearby cities such as Idaho Falls and American Falls. 

"We think we're going to get into the local Walmart," he added. "They have a place for local products."
