POCATELLO — The Pocatello Gateway Station located at 1750 Flandro Drive will collect tax returns up until 8 p.m. on Monday, April 15.

The latest collection time on April 15 in the Idaho Falls area will be 6 p.m. at the Idaho Falls Post Office, 605 4th St.

In addition, customers who print a mailing label before midnight at one of the self-service kiosks inside the Pocatello post office located at 730 E. Clark St. will receive an April 15 postmark. This also applies at the Idaho Falls location on Fourth Street. The self-service kiosks only accept debit or credit cards.

Those filing their taxes on April 15 are encouraged to mail their tax returns early in the day and to check the collection times on each box to ensure pick up is scheduled for the same day.

Postal officials warn that correct postage is a must with regards to tax-related envelopes. First-Class letter-size postage is 46 cents for the first ounce and 20 cents for each additional ounce. If you use a larger envelope, First-Class postage is 92 cents for the first ounce and 20 cents for each additional ounce. Customers wanting certification that their tax forms are received by the Internal Revenue Service should mail them using certified mail service.
