POCATELLO — The city of Pocatello Street Operations Department will be working in the parking lot next to the Edson Fichter Nature Area on Monday and Tuesday.

The crew will be removing the large rocks and the concrete sidewalk and curb and gutter in  preparation for the expansion of the parking lot that will be completed later this summer.  The city will be hiring a contractor to pour new sidewalk, curb and gutter in a few weeks.

Later in the summer, city crews will return to re-grade the area and lay new asphalt in the expanded parking lot.

The parking lot will be closed while the construction demolition is under way.

For more information, call Marla Vik, the city’s project engineer, at
