POCATELLO — The Civil Air Patrol Pocatello Composite Squadron Cadet Airman Perkins and Cadet Airman Reitz took off early Sept. 8 in a Civil Air Patrol Cessna 182.Â
The cadets EARNED their first Orientation Flight. They completed their Curry Award (completion of Leadership Exam, Drill Test, Character Development, Physical Training) and became airmen.Â
They were so excited to fly. Before takeoff, Civil Air Patrol pilot, Capt. Dixon, gave them a short course in safety precautions and what to expect while flying. The cadets had a great time.
In their Civil Air Patrol career, cadets have five orientation flights in a Cessna 182 and five glider flights.Â
Civil Air Patrol has a three-fold mission: Cadet programs, aerospace education, and emergency services.
