POCATELLO — A furniture warehouse offering more affordable prices for anyone looking for bargains on their home decor has opened near Idaho State University.

David Durk, one of the owners of the new warehouse called Budget Furniture, located at 902 S. First Ave., said most of the products sold at the warehouse came from Maple Street Sit N Sleep, another furniture store that Durk owns.

“It’s just really old inventory we’ve had,” Durk said.

Budget Furniture will be open for a limited time while it sells the inventory that Durk has left over From Maple Street. He currently expects that it will be in business until December of this year.

“Once the word’s out, everything should go pretty quick,” Durk said.

The products offered at Budget Furniture include clearance items and used items. Some of them have minor blemishes, but are still fully functional.

“They’re just old products,” Durk said.

Budget Furniture officially opened its doors on May 31. Durk said it will be open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Mondays from noon until 5 p.m. Right now he hopes to get the word out that it’s open.

“It’s taken us a while to get everything put out,” Durk said.

One thing that Durk looks forward to about Budget Furniture is that it will offer customers furniture at more affordable prices that they wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else.

“It’s going to be really good buys cheaper than online,” Durk said. “It’s called Budget Furniture, so it’s for people that are on a budget. Of course anyone can shop there.”

Inventory will be limited during the months that Budget Furniture will be open. Durk wants customers to be aware that all products are sold as is and that they are responsible for taking notice of the condition of the products they buy.

“You’re getting a really good deal, but there’s kind of a catch,” Durk said. “There’s no deliveries. You have to pick it up yourself. All sales are final.”

According to Budget Furniture’s Facebook page, they have new inventory in everything from tables, chairs, mattresses and couches. One of their available couches is sunshine yellow in color with brown throw pillows. One of the tables has a marbled top with four black leather chairs that appears perfect for a small family. Other items include a wooden bench, a bed frame, mirrors and soft chairs for relaxation. There is even a mini fridge available at the warehouse. Many of the items in the store cost less than $500.

The items in the warehouse have a vintage look to them, but they are in good condition. The customers who buy them will be sure to have them in their homes for a long time. A lot of the items are made of wood. Some are dark wood, and others are lighter wood. No matter what they are made of, each item seems to be a work of art in its own way.
