Bingham County residents are reporting a second mysterious explosion less than a week after the first blast triggered several 911 calls.

Residents in the town of Riverside reported to the local media Sunday evening that they not only heard a loud explosion but the boom was powerful enough to shake their homes.

However, the Bingham County Sheriff's Office says that it did not receive any calls from residents about Sunday night's alleged blast.

This is in stark contrast to the explosion that several Groveland residents reported to the Sheriff's Office on Wednesday afternoon.

Those reports prompted sheriff's deputies, Blackfoot fire units and Idaho State Police to respond to Groveland to find what blew up.

But their search of the area turned up nothing.

Riverside is located about three miles west of Blackfoot, while Groveland is about two miles northwest of Blackfoot. Riverside and Groveland have about 850 residents each.

Because no one reported Sunday night's explosion to the Sheriff's Office it's unclear if the incident is going to be investigated.

When contacted Friday about the Wednesday explosion, the Sheriff's Office had no leads on what caused the blast.

Dozens of Groveland and Riverside residents have commented about the explosions on social media.

Although somewhat rare for two events to occur within a week of each other rather than all at once, it is possible that the mystery explosions were due to a meteor of some appreciable size entering the atmosphere which many times will generate a massive boom that can be heard for hundreds and sometimes thousands of miles. The latter case just occurred a couple months ago when a meteor entered the atmosphere in the north Atlantic and the boom was heard in the the NE USA and in Britain.

But again, it is somewhat rare for these to occur a week apart. Usually the same fragments of a comet or what have you would enter the atmosphere all around the same time and perhaps a day or so later at most.

The thing about an explosion is that it *always* has a point of origin, and it's very hard to hide that point after the explosion.
If you *think* you've heard an explosion, but you didn't see a flash, flying debris, or a column of smoke and you can't find a crater or something large that was destroyed, what you heard was *probably* something that did not have a single point of origin - like a sonic boom.

We live 25 miles south of Nashville TN, and about 3 weeks ago we heard two explosions that we thought had to be either a tanker truck, propane tank or meth lab going up......made the ground shake. Nothing in the news the next day. Then a few days later, I see this on a friend's Facebook wall:

More than likely related to seismic activity at Yellowstone.

Explosions in rural Utah?

I thought that was called fishin' in these here parts!

Canada using dynamites to create tunnels to come and Kidnap American school children. It originated in a church in BC. Evil Christians are trying to kidnap saintly mosleem children in a maddass-ah who are learning virtue. Of course these mosleems will never do such a thing to a Christians or Jews.

Possible reasons as will be posited by the Liberal MSM: 1. Fracking in N. Dakota 2.) Man-made Global Warming 3.) Republicans winning senate 4.) Messiah Obama spiting the heartland for now bowing to him. 5. Messiah Obama rising in a thunder cloud. 6. Reverend Sharpton smiting whitey in Idaho.

If Bingham County is a ranch area, it's probably someone blowing up deceased cows to avoid attracting wolves. They do it here every year prior to calving season.

You people can be sure of one thing and only this one thing. Whatever is causing the explosions, secret weapon testing, Extraterrestrial underground base movements, or even something natural, you will never get the truth from our government anymore.

They started their lying campaign in July of 1947 and it is just as bad now as way back then.

MichelleTheWookie

Just a bunch of good ole boys, lighting farts.

smash44

Air Force bases in Nevada, Colorado and S. Dakota. Probably sonic booms.

MeowMan

Yea and they aren't owning up to that? Very odd.

YarplyTwelve

Underground bunkers and tunnels sometimes use explosives, even though they normally use huge boring machines. D.U.M.B. Deep Underground Military Bases. No joke. They are building them all over and have been for years. If you can not find any evidence of above ground explosions then underground is the source. Most cities won't talk about them.

MichelleTheWookie

And you know this how? Was it in the lede in Tin Hat Journal or the Contrail Mind Control blog?

oldbill07

New and improved bunker busting bombs have to be tested someplace.

MeowMan

Ahuh so they test them just outside town, and don't tell anyone what they're doing?

Seems legit.

hamdog1

Hey, where you guys get that Tannerite stuff from? That sounds like the perfect ingredient for a memorable 4th of July Fireworks show. Me and the Mexican guys across the street are always trying to out do each other!

hamdog1

I am from South Carolina and in my neighborhood, we hear stuff blowin' up all the time! It's usually when Billy Bob gets "likkered up" and he starts horsin' around with some leftover dynamite, or decides to clean his gun while he is baby sittin'. Just remember... when somebody says "Hey Ya'll! Watch This!" you best duck or at least cover your eyes and ears. Could also be one of the kids just made up a fresh batch of M-80s, or the Crystal Meth pot just blew! If the ambulance is speeding and the siren is going, you know everybody is okay!

Sorry, that was me. I'm lactose intolerant, and when I get drunk I love eating cheese. My apologies to all Idahoans, both public and private.

The area should be cleared of all living things including people until this can be figured out. Move all the residents to a school cafeteria until further notice. This may be global warming or some other dangerous condition that could cause injury. Children should be separated from their parents and moved even further away from the area to school cafeterias at least twice as far away as the one's their parents are relocated to. This would ensure that the government would be in charge until this is figured out. And that no creature would be injured. The article is clear that the authorities have no idea what is causing this and until they do there's no sense taking chances with people's lives. Take away all guns too so that no one can shoot another person or animal in fear. Plus the government should buy up all the spare ammunition at fair market value to help as well. This can only be resolved by government. We need them to ensure our safety.

MeowMan

Yes indeed, Obama will take care of it!

"We had the same thing going on here, this will turn out to be the same thing I bet.

Some idiot is mixing up about 15 lbs of Tannerite and shooting it is all, this has been going on all over the country since they started making the stuff easily available"

That would be my guess too. Lacking Tannerite, they could be cobbling up their own binary explosive. We used to do SLT pre 68 when playing with bombs became a federal rap. Same basic idea as launching balloons with house gas and assorted special effects. Scares the people... Upset the dogs. Only now it mobilizes the entire State Security mechanism.

The explosion is from the Blasting being done for the doomsday bunkers the US govt. is building for our beloved political leadership all over the USA...

if only there was someway to determine the direction of a sound based on interviewing witnesses, getting them to estimate the direction, and plotting that on a map. the results being a triangle shape that points to the source. some kind of "triangulation" if you will...

MrDave

I must apologize. I've been testing a new chili recipe and the results were unintended.[beam]

Ever hear of Tannerite? I'll betcha someone in Idaho has.

Lee Warren

It's something or somebody blasting a tunnel in the area. Big rock in the way. Down very deep.

lizzcamm

Earthquake. They always sound like an explosion and then shaking after explosion

blkops21

Our magnetoshpere or also known as magnetic field has decreased more than 15% over the last 100 years. The solar storms and M Class and X Class flares now put pressure on our tectonic plates. CME's or Coronal Mass Ejections shot out from the Sun have been incredible over the last 2 months. Verify by checking JPL...Jet Propulsion Laboratories. Also our sun weather satellites (SDO) are getting rocked hard by solar storms. This in conjunction with the geological activity in the greater WY, MT, Idaho are suggest an event that USGS is not saying thing about. Check University of Utah seismograph reading and the increases H4 levels also known as ancient Hydrogen (millions of years old) now being seen rising in Yellowstone, Micro quakes and quake swarms are increasing and methane is being released into multiple parts of the Yellowstone Park. This is a precursor to a volcanic eruption. The Yellowstone caldera is 56 miles wide and would change life as we know it forever, if it erupts.

blkops21

Idaho is a seismically active area. With high magma movement in the Yellowstone caldera, I am not surprised to hear of loud booms. USGS is keeping quiet.

elevatorfart

George Bush and Dick Cheney did it! I swear, I saw them lighting their farts.

Cheetah06

Anyone ever hear of a sonic boom?[beam]

POLICE LIVES MATTER

Come on!
It's merely some guys enjoying large quantities of Tannerite.

the juice

a different thought the sun's energy has been weak for ten years and i believe our magnetic field has grown stronger and the combo has caused the earth 's crust to contract putting more pressure on our core so these popping sounds come from our magmatic core pressing against crust looking for a weak spot to exploit if I am right there should be a considerable increase in volcanic activity but big earth quakes 8.0 and greater would happen less often you can check records was one of my predictions ten years ago the frequency in the 90's was one every 9 months now its one every 18 months do to a thicker crust needing more pressure to release but when it dose it would produce a larger quack at the point of release beware the cold for it kills with out a sound

theednc

Heard this around the beginning of December in southern California... had police scrambling and all the neighbors explained it as a boom that shook their chests and windows.. it woke me from my sleep the loudest noise I have ever heard. For a quick second i was thinking NUKE! but nope no fire no nothing, just a loud boom, read somewhere that these booms happened in an area for weeks before a major earthquake.

Winkie Po

Frack, baby, Frack. Does your kitchen faucet look like a scene out of "Gasland"? Somethings happening down below and you will never know.

the juice

first your comments will follow you second the EPA hasn't found a single well contaminated from fracking because if they had they would have gotten a federal injunction against all fracking esp. with the current administration third the people who financed gasland came from the middle east born of people who don't like us and don't want us to get our own oil even less and those same people don't want women going to school or driving fourth I'm gonna bet you don't feel the million parasite's feeding on the surface of your skin which I'm sure the earth doesn't feel us either

the juice

one more point the most facked state in the union North Dakota has had no earth quacks and the fracked wells actually give us a view into what is happening under the ground and not just walk above it thinking about what is happening under the ground by the by not in favor of fracking and would not want to live next to one of those wells like everything new its great till one blows up which it will even if it is sabotaged by some moron thinking he's gonna make a better world by death and destruction

Have heard them over the years. Friends and others also heard them.

Get reports that fade away that the booms are Methane or Natural Gas being 'popped' or struck by lightening or exploding under ground.

Told it is hot Magma moving underground especially through old magma and lava tubes from and near old volcanoes.

Told noise is from moving of rock to continual expand underground military bases, or testing weapons, or underground superspeed continental tram/ train/ people carrier/ etc.

More and more sane and sober people are hearing the noises. It doesn't appear to be ball lightning and dry lightning strikes.....

You just might have hit the nail on the head.

RLOwen

I would suggest you look to un-named bases in the badlands of Utah or northern Nevada. I hear that strange and wonderful things appear there after dark. Some go really really fast.

xsnake

global warming.

jeepchicnco

To add to my previous comment - could have easily been a sonic boom. Many people dont know what they sound like - but having a base w/in a few hours leaves open that possibility.

jeepchicnco

There is a military base not far away - I know of many stationed there. More than likely it is related to the base and activities there or nearby

dixorobe

Mountain Home AFB is 3 hours away and is much closer to Boise, Mountain Home, and Twin. Any base activity would have been felt by those communities, not this one.

jackak

Check to see who's missing from the local meth community.

Dantes

Probably some kid out shooting Tannerite, a Binary Explosive which is legal for use as targets.

Kathleen O'Meal

...could be some different things happening...we had a similar thing happen in upstate NY a few years back...it sounded like back to back low rumble explosions and did shake the ground...my understanding is that geophysicists researched and found what was thought a focal point...and a place where earth's "plates" shucked together, brought on by seismic activity elsewhere...where were the explosion sounds loudest?...keep your ears open...any information gathered may help whoever investigates...hopefully there will be an investigation

SgtMAD

these explosions are being heard all over the country right now,my kids have heard them in So. Utah, they have made the papers in Oklahoma and numerous other areas around the country
