BOISE — An Amber Alert was called off Thursday after Boise Police Department detectives say they safely located 17-year-old Lee Roy Center at a residence in the 2200 block of North Liberty Street around 7:30 a.m.
At the time, the teenager appeared to be in good health as it was feared that Center had been battered by his father Verdell “Ric” R. Daniel. Police believed that the 44-year-old Boise man had fled the area with his son and possibly Center’s girlfriend.
Center was turned over to the custody of agents with the Idaho State Department of Health and Welfare on Thursday, according to BPD officials. They also indicated that the investigation into the alleged battery did not result in any charges being filed at this time.
Following a detailed investigation, police say Daniel has not been taken into custody and that officers are no longer seeking his whereabouts at this time.
Other elements of the investigation are still ongoing, including the validity of the report by a third party and the elusive nature of the Daniel’s actions.
No further information was made available to the media on Thursday.
