POCATELLO — Bannock County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident around 7:30 p.m. on Monday. 

The accident, which took place at 5754 S. Fifth Ave. in Pocatello, near the sheriff’s office, involved a Honda and a Chevy HHR, according to Bannock County dispatchers. 

A deputy on scene said a motorist was trying to avoid hitting a deer that was on the road when the accident occurred. The deer wasn’t injured in the incident, but the vehicles collided. 

A Pocatello Fire Department ambulance responded to the scene and did transport a teenage girl to the hospital.
