POCATELLO — An 18-year-old local man is facing several felony charges after police say he stole illegal drugs from a woman, robbing her at gunpoint, as well as possessed sexually exploitative material depicting a child.

Jaydon Daniel Moore, of Pocatello, has been charged with robbery, burglary, grand theft by possession, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of child sexually exploitative material, all felonies, according to police and court records the Idaho State Journal recently obtained.

The theft-related and aggravated assault charges were filed against Moore on Sept. 25 in connection to an incident on Sept. 20 in which he’s accused of stealing drugs from a local woman, police said in a report.

Pocatello police officers were dispatched to a mobile home on Yellowstone Avenue around 9:20 p.m. on Sept. 20 after a local woman called to report that she had just been robbed at gunpoint, according to the report.

Officers arrived at the woman’s home where she showed them security camera footage of her living room, where she and Moore were sitting as she showed him what drugs she had, police said.

The security camera footage depicted the woman showing Moore various types of THC moon rocks while Moore was texting on his cell phone, according to the report.

Two men wearing masks then forced their way into the woman’s home and Moore pulled out a two-tone pistol and pointed it at the woman, telling her that they were robbing her, police said.

Moore and the two men then grabbed a box that contained two ounces of THC moon rocks, two chocolate bars that were infused with psilocybin mushrooms and various makeup items, according to the report.

On Sept. 22, officers located Moore in the area of South Harrison Avenue and arrested him. Officers searched him subsequent to arrest and located a .40 caliber Smith And Wesson pistol that had previously been reported stolen, police said. His cell phone was also seized as evidence.

Moore was then charged with robbery, burglary, grand theft by possession and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon before being transported to the Bannock County Jail in Pocatello.

When asked if the woman who originally possessed the illegal drugs will face criminal charges, the Bannock County Prosecutor’s Office said the entire incident remains under investigation.

He appeared in front of 6th District Judge Ted Israel for an arraignment hearing on Sept. 25, during which his bond was set at $50,000.

While incarcerated, officers sent Moore’s phone to a forensic laboratory for analysis.

Officers received a report containing the contents of Moore’s phone on Tuesday and upon reviewing the report located 40 images and six videos of a 17-year-girl that depicted her nude body, police said. The officers also observed Moore in some of the photos that depicted the nude girl, according to the report.

Moore was then charged with possessing child sexually exploitative material.

Moore was arraigned on the child sexually exploitative materials charge on Thursday, during which his bond was set at $10,000.

Moore is due back in court on Oct. 17 and Oct. 19 for preliminary hearings on the charges he faces, which will involve prosecutors attempting to prove there is enough evidence against him to elevate the cases from the magistrate to district court level for trial.

If convicted of the aggravated assault and all the theft-related charges filed against him, Moore faces no less than five years and up to life in prison as well as a fine of up to $200,000.

If convicted of the possession of child sexually exploitative material charge, he faces up to $30 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.
