A 49-year-old Idaho Falls man was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Clark County on Tuesday, and an 81-year-old Arimo man recently succumbed to his injuries following a one-vehicle rollover last month.
The Clark County accident involved a 2007 Kenworth Tractor that was hauling a load of road mix while traveling north on State Highway 28, south of Lone Pine, according to an Idaho State Police news release.
Steven D. Strickling was driving the vehicle when it went off the right shoulder of the road. He then lost control of the vehicle and it veered back onto the road and overturned, scattering the road mix onto the highway, according to the news release. Strickling was trapped in the vehicle and died at the scene.
Arimo resident Alton C. Smith also died on Sunday as a result injuries he sustained in a one-vehicle rollover on Arimo Road, west of Interstate 15, on Sept. 29.
Bannock County dispatchers say that accident may have been connected to a medical issue.
Funeral services for Smith will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Arimo LDS Stake Center. Family members will also meet with friends from 6- to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center, prior to the funeral.
