Idaho State sophomore midfielder Makena Bambei was named to the Big Sky Conference second team, announced Tuesday. Bambei was the only Bengal to receive all-conference recognition, and she is the first Bengal to earn all-conference accolades since 2015.
Bambei led Idaho State in goals scored with five, shots with 55 and points with 11, and she ranked tied for second in assists with one. During conference play, Bambei ranked fifth in the conference in shots (34) and shots per game (3.40), and she ranked tied for seventh in goals with four.
Chloe Williams of Eastern Washington was named the conference’s offensive player of the year for the third consecutive season, while Montana’s Taryn Miller was named the defensive player of the year. Catherine Klein of North Dakota earned goalkeeper of the year honors, while Kylee Kim-Bustillos of Sacramento State was named the Top Newcomer. Morgan Quarnberg of Weber State earned the Golden Boot award, and North Dakota head coach Chris Logan was named the coach of the year.
