POCATELLO — A man was found dead near North Main and West Custer streets Thursday morning in what investigators believe may have been an overdose.

Officers responded to the area around 10 a.m. after receiving a report of an unresponsive individual, according to the Pocatello Police Department. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The official cause and manner of death have not been determined and remain under investigation by the Bannock County Coroner’s Office. Based on the preliminary investigation, police said the death appears consistent with a possible overdose.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Police said there is no indication of danger to the public or evidence of suspicious circumstances.
