FORT HALL — The Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel is bringing home the flavor and the hardware after earning top honors at the BBQ Battle of the Tetons, held last Friday in Idaho Falls and hosted by Santa Maria Style Grilling.
The casino's food and beverage team earned first place in the beef category with a locally sourced American wagyu brisket from Snake River Farms, and second place in the pork category with perfectly smoked ribs. Both dishes reflect the team’s passion for excellence, authenticity and regional sourcing.
“These awards speak to the passion and skill of our culinary team,” said Lloyd George, food and beverage director. “We weren’t just there to compete — we were there to represent the excellence and local flavor our guests experience every day and honoring Tribal tradition.”
To celebrate the win, the ribs and the award-winning brisket will be available in the Painted Horse Buffet, and for a limited time the Camas Sports Grill menu — will also offer the brisket alongside other inspired creations as part of the upcoming Taste of Festival, a culinary celebration running during the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes’ Annual Festival, Aug. 7–10.
Guests can indulge in a rotating selection of dishes that highlight both innovation and heritage, including:
— Red wine elk bolognese alla montagna.
— Mountain sunset sorbet.
— 15-hour smoked heritage brisket.
Come for the festival, stay for the flavor — this special menu blends modern cuisine with traditional roots, available only during this once-a-year celebration. For more information, visit shobangaming.com/culinary-legends/.
