Patriotism is the theme for the upcoming Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot.

“Fairgoers are invited to dust off their denim and wave their flags high as the 124th annual fair celebrates a bold patriotic theme — red, white and blue jeans — as America turns 250,” said Brandon Bird, state fair GM.

He announced the grandstand lineup Tuesday in the Downtown Event Center in Idaho Falls and live on Facebook.

“There’s no better place to celebrate the spirit of 1776 than in Blackfoot on Sept. 4 through the 12th,” Bird said. “This year’s fair blends hometown tradition with big name entertainment.

“There’s something for everyone to enjoy,” Bird said. “Bring your denim jeans, dust them off and come out and celebrate with us.”

Topping the entertainment is the appearance of Flo Rida at the Bank of Commerce Grandstand on Friday, Sept. 4.

Flo Rida (born Tramar Lacel Dillard on Sept. 16, 1979) is a multi-platinum American rapper, singer and songwriter known for his high-energy party anthems. He rose to global prominence with his 2007 breakout single “Low.”

“He has three number ones, 11 top 10s and sold 80 million records,” Bird said. “His music has been part of pop music. We are very excited for the dance party that we’re going to bring to the Eastern Idaho State Fair. It’s gonna be a wild one.”

Flo Rida’s biggest hits are defined by massive, dance-pop anthems and global chart-toppers from the late 2000s to mid-2010s, with his top songs including “Low” (feat. T-Pain), “Right Round” (feat. Kesha), “Club Can’t Handle Me” (feat. David Guetta) and “My House.”

Comedian Gabriel Iglesias returns to the state fair on Thursday, Sept. 10.

“He is the first comedian to sell out Dodger Stadium, MSG, crypto.com in LA and the Sydney Opera House in Australia and twice has sold out the Eastern Idaho State Fair,” Bird said. “He never disappoints. He’s always a fair favorite.”

Country artist Nate Smith takes the stage on Friday, Sept. 11.

“He takes country to a new level,” Bird said.

Smith is a California-born country singer-songwriter known for his gritty, soulful vocals and hits like “Whiskey On You” and “World On Fire.”

“We’re thrilled to bring the fair experience that honors the past while delivering nine days of unforgettable entertainment,” Bird said.

Tickets for grandstand events will go on pre-sale for VIP members at 8 a.m. April 22. Sales open to the general public on Friday, April 24 at 12:01 a.m. Fans can secure early access by joining the FREE VIP Club at www.funatthefair.com.
