Athletic Club Boise’s busiest month to date is just getting started.

AC Boise returned to USL League One play last weekend, winning 2-1 at home against Chattanooga Red Wolves Soccer Club, the club’s second consecutive win in the league. With another three points in the bag, AC Boise sits in fifth place in the league with 11 points on the season through six games played. AC Boise has at least one game in hand on the four teams above them in the league table.

But those games will be made up soon. AC Boise’s second of seven games this month kicks off Wednesday night on the road against Charlotte Independence in USL League One play. It’s the first time AC Boise is playing in a midweek game this season and the first occasion where the team will play a game without a full week of rest.

Even though it has played fewer games than most of the league, AC Boise is tied for the most goals scored in the league with 12. The club has begun to round into form, avoiding defeat in five straight games.

Head coach Nate Miller’s preferred starting lineup has taken shape as well. After a few changes in AC Boise’s USL Cup match against Las Vegas Lights FC, Miller brought Blake Bodily, Nick Moon, Denys Kostyshyn and Philip Mayaka back into the lineup last Saturday. Midfielder Tumi Moshobane has been a player in form as of late, scoring in back-to-back league games.

AC Boise will be without one of its regular starters, striker Thomas Amang, who will miss Wednesday’s game with a lower body injury. A late signing for the club, Amang has started in each of the last three games.

Despite Charlotte’s position in the bottom half of the league, the club has remained competitive in all five of its league games, recording one win, two draws and two defeats. Both losses came by one goal. Charlotte, just like AC Boise, is averaging two goals per league contest.

Following Wednesday’s match, AC Boise will play in four consecutive home games. AC Boise will have a week off before its game next Wednesday against FC Naples. A few days later, AC Boise hosts Monterey Bay FC in its second USL Cup game on Saturday, May 16.

Home dates with Fort Wayne on May 23 and Sarasota Paradise on May 27 round out the upcoming homestand.
