POCATELLO RUNNIN REBELS 14, LEWIS-CLARK 4 (6)

The Pocatello Runnin Rebels kept their season alive Saturday at the double-A state tournament with a 14-4, six-inning win over the Lewis-Clark Twins at Nampa’s Rodeo Park in a loser-out game.

Pocatello finished with 14 hits, including a game-high three hits and four RBIs from Jon Flores. Teammate Luke Grow pitched six innings, allowing six hits and no earned runs. The Runnin Rebels led 7-0 after four innings.

Pocatello lost 7-6 to the Nampa Chiefs on Friday in the tournament’s first round. The Runnin Rebels were behind the whole game after allowing three runs in the top of the first inning. Pocatello’s two seventh-inning runs were not enough to rally.

Pocatello (23-17) plays the Idaho Falls Bandits on Sunday at Rodeo Park in a loser-out game.

BURLEY 6, POCATELLO RAZORBACKS 3

Pocatello fell 6-3 to Burley in a loser-out game of the single-A Area C tournament Friday at Hillcrest High School.

Burley scored five of its six runs in the opening inning.

Nick McAdam led the Razorbacks with a team-high three hits and one run.

Pocatello (32-15) was two wins short of clinching the Area C consolation championship and securing the district’s third seed to state.

TWIN FALLS BLACKHAWKS 12, BLACKFOOT 5

Blackfoot was eliminated from the single-A Area C tournament Friday at Hillcrest High School, losing 12-5 to Twin Falls.

The Broncos could not overcome giving up eight fourth-inning runs, which turned a 3-3 tie into an 11-3 deficit.

Blackfoot, which was led by Cole Krawczyk’s two hits, fell a round away from the Area C consolation championship game.
