THE BREAKDOWN: Top-seeded Highland (16-6-1 overall) won two more conference games than any league foe, but the Rams sputtered to end the regular season, losing their final two games 10-7 to Thunder Ridge and 16-10 to Bonneville. Highland boasts the district’s top offense (8.3 runs per game) and defense (4.8 rpg) and outscored league opponents by an average of 5.6 runs in victories. Rigby gave the Rams the most trouble, beating Highland 3-0 in the Rams’ only shutout loss of the season and tying the Rams 4-4 on April 18. Highland hosts No. 4 Thunder Ridge in the first round on Wednesday.

4A DISTRICT 4-5 TOURNAMENT

THE SEEDS: 1. Twin Falls (17-1), 2. Minico (17-1), 3. Pocatello (11-7), 4. Canyon Ridge (9-9), 5. Century (9-9), 6. Burley (8-10), 7. Jerome (7-11), 8. Wood River (5-13), 9. Mountain Home (4-14), 10. Preston (3-15)
STATE QUALIFIERS: 3
THE BREAKDOWN: Pocatello (13-10-1 overall) enters the postseason red hot, riding a six-game winning streak. The Indians have scored 10 runs or more in five consecutive games and kickstarted their winning streak by holding four straight opponents to one run. Poky hosts No. 6 Burley in the first round on Friday. Pocatello won both head-to-head matchups this season. Century (8-13 overall) beat Preston on Monday to earn the tournament’s No. 5 seed. The Diamondbacks overcame a midseason six-game losing streak to finish .500 in league play, winning four of their final five games. They went 1-1 against No. 4 Canyon Ridge, which hosts Century in Friday’s first round. Preston (4-15 overall) enters the tournament on a seven-game losing skid. The Indians play Friday against No. 7 Jerome in a play-in game at Minico High School.

4A DISTRICT 6 TOURNAMENT

FORMAT: Best-of-three series
THE SEEDS: 1. Idaho Falls (12-2), 2. Bonneville (11-4), 3. Skyline (9-6), 4. Blackfoot (7-7), 5. Hillcrest (5-10), 6. Shelley (0-15).
STATE QUALIFIERS: 1.5
THE BREAKDOWN: Blackfoot (13-8-1 overall) enters districts on a seven-game winning streak, including six wins against league foes Shelley and Hillcrest. The Broncos own the conference’s second-best offense at 8.6 runs per game, plating double-digit runs nine times this season (all wins). Blackfoot hosts No. 5 Hillcrest to open the tournament Tuesday. The teams capped the regular season with a three-game series, which Blackfoot swept 3-0.
