The Marsh Valley boys have raced to a 4-1 start to the season, and on Tuesday, they were rewarded. In the first boys basketball media poll of the season, the Eagles topped Class 3A, garnering four first-place votes. Currently on a three-game win streak, Marsh Valley hosted Star Valley Tuesday night.

Elsewhere in the poll, Preston checked in at No. 2 in Class 4A — with Pocatello just outside those rankings — and Snake River ranked No. 4 in 3A. Grace also made an appearance in the 1A DI rankings, registering at No. 3, and Rockland came in at No. 4 in the 1A DII poll.
