Victor cowboy Cooper Cooke is third in the all-around standings with one say remaining at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Cooke leads the average in bareback riding (152) and is tied for 14th in saddle bronc (73). He won the second go-round in saddle bronc with a 73-point ride in Friday's morning performance.
Other Idaho rodeoers who rank near the top of the average in their respective events are Wendell's Brayden Roe (third, tie-down roping), Star's Kiersten Brockett (tied for fourth, cow cutting), Challis' Kade Bruno (11th, saddle bronc) and Rexburg's Breanna Jenkins (fifth, reined cow horse).
Idaho's girls team is sixth place in the standings, and Idaho's boys are in second. The overall Idaho team is in third place, behind Texas and Utah.
