POCATELLO — Two people were transported to Portneuf Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries Friday morning following a rollover crash on northbound Interstate 15 just south of the Clark Street exit, Idaho State Police said.
The 9:53 a.m. crash occurred when a 73-year-old female from El Cerrito, California, was driving northbound on Interstate 15 in a 2005 Infiniti QX56 hauling a camper trailer when the trailer fishtailed and caused the driver to lose control, state police said.
The vehicle and camper went off the right side of the road, rolled, and came to rest off the right shoulder, according to state police.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt. Both the driver and passenger, a 78-year-old male, of El Cerrito, California, were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital, state police said.
One lane was blocked for approximately four hours while crews recovered the vehicle. One lane closure endured while the wrecker removed the camper trailer, according to state police.
A Bannock County sheriff’s deputy who was responding to another crash witnessed the rollover crash and was one of the first people on the scene, police said.
The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
