ST. ANTHONY — The four occupants of an SUV, including two children, escaped a collision with a freight train unscathed on Friday.
The incident occurred around noon at the intersection of Highway 20 and the railroad tracks west of St. Anthony.
Gavin Schnobrich, 21, of St. Anthony, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe west on Highway 20 when he failed to yield to a freight train at the railroad crossing, state police said.
Gavin and his three passengers, Alison Schnobrich, 21, of St. Anthony, and two children, were all wearing seat belts at the time of the collision, state police said. Miraculously none of them suffered injuries.
Assisting state troopers at the scene were Fremont County sheriff’s deputies and St. Anthony police.
