Idaho State Police responded to multiple crashes on Interstate 15 north of Malad on Thursday night after some cattle got loose and entered the roadway.

Police say four vehicles were involved in accidents. No people were seriously injured, but a handful of cows did die as a result of the incident.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes of the interstate were blocked for several hours as police investigated.
