Mathew painter

REXBURG — Police Chief Shane Turman of the Rexburg Police Department said authorities have found 25-year-old Mathew Painter, who had been missing.

Turman said they found Painter on Tuesday near Salmon, Idaho. He said that Painter is safe. He said they did not find him injured.

“It was a great relief,” Turman said.

According to a post on Facebook made by Painter’s wife, he’s “at the hospital up there until they figure out what to do next.”

According to the RPD, Mathew Painter left for work Monday morning at 4:20 a.m. After that he went missing. He was reported as headed to work, possibly to Burger King.

Turman said they sent an alert to all four counties and tried tracking his cell phone but it was believed to be turned off.

Turman said it was Painter’s wife who reported him missing.
