POCATELLO — Jeffrey Ryan Cardell, 23, of Chubbuck, was arrested Thursday and charged with resisting and obstructing arrest, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated.
   According to the police report, officers noted that Cardell was acting suspiciously when they made contact with him around 12:45 a.m. at 330 E. Benton St.
   Eventually, Pocatello Police Department officials indicated it discovered that Cardell was illegally in possession of a concealed weapon. The man reportedly did not become combative until after he handed the weapon over.
   Jesse Lee Converse, 32, of Firth, was taken into custody on Aug. 1 in the area of North Grant and West Carson streets at 12:48 a.m. in relation to a possession of methamphetamines charge. PPD officials also say he was wanted on two outstanding warrants.
   According to authorities, bicycle patrol officers engaged in a short chase with Converse who was also riding a bicycle. He was eventually apprehended.
   On July 30, a Fort Hall resident was arrested in connection with a charge related to the possession of forged checks. The accused is 45-year-old Danny Earl Matthews.
