Idaho State Police released this image of a red Chevrolet Silverado sought in connection with a Sept. 13 hit-and-run crash on U.S. 20 near Island Park.

The Silverado attempted to illegally pass another vehicle on a three-lane section of the highway around 8 p.m., creating a near head-on collision with an oncoming Subaru, according to police.

The Subaru left the roadway trying to avoid the pickup, struck an embankment and rolled.

Both occupants of the Subaru were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said. The Silverado's driver left the scene without stopping.

Anyone who recognizes the pictured Silverado or has information about its driver is asked to call Idaho State Police dispatch at 208-846-7500.
