Jacksons Food Stores raised nearly $200,000 for domestic violence awareness and prevention, according to a news release from the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence.

"Domestic violence is a devastating problem in our society that affects all communities, and especially women and children from historically marginalized communities," according to Yara Slaton, a program specialist for the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence. "In Idaho we hear from refugee women who are unable to financial support themselves and are forced to remain in abusive marriages."

This year marks the 15th year of this fundraising campaign, according to the news release.

The effort was spread out across six states, but Idaho Jacksons stores alone raised roughly $75,000, according to the news release.

"In Idaho, these funds are essential to us to be able to do work to interrupt the root causes of violence so that we can end domestic violence," Slaton wrote in the news release.
