POCATELLO — Dark roasted malted porters, dry and crisp tinged blonde ales, bitter and hops dominated IPAs and other indulgent beverages will be available for enjoyment at the 13th Annual Gate City Brewfest set for this Saturday in Pocatello.

From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., connoisseurs and beer aficionados can visit 17 local breweries, bars, pubs and restaurants throughout downtown Pocatello, experiencing over 80 different beers and other drinks provided by local and regional brewers.

Part of the announced arsenal of brewing behemoths will include the likes of Deschutes, Rooster, Sockeye, Big Sky Brewing, Boneyard and countless others alongside the two Gate City breweries Jim Dandy and Off the Rails. In total, there will be over 25 breweries in attendance.

The tickets are $30 if bought in advance or $35 if purchased on the day of the event, Saturday. Tickets include unlimited pours, permitting attendees to partake in their favorite ales, seltzers and robust stouts all day for one single price.

Participants must be age 21 or older to purchase tickets and photo identification is required at check-in on Saturday. The check-in locations include the Historic Downtown Pocatello offices at 435 W. Center St., the Pocatello-Chubbuck Chamber of Commerce at 324 S. Main St. and the Center Street Clubhouse at 542 E. Center St.

Live music and entertainment will be provided at many venues during the afternoon. The Union Taproom will host Sherrod Parkhouse at 1 p.m., Idaho Rovers at 3:30 p.m. and Teacher at 6 p.m.

The First National bar will also be a lively spot for music entertainment with Layne Bowen playing at 1 p.m., Jake Kratochvil at 2:15 p.m., Shawn Barnby at 3:30 p.m. and Josh Langston at 4:45 p.m.

The Center Street Clubhouse will have DJ Ontic on site for music throughout the afternoon.

Despite the temporary closure of the Center Street underpass, the pedestrian walkways at the underpass will still be available for use as patrons move between the east and west sides of the downtown. Vehicle traffic will still be closed in the underpass area, but the downtown trolley and the Leadership Pocatello-Chubbuck bus will be running throughout the day for ticket holders interested in hitching a ride.

Wanderlust Craft Beer Taproom & Wine Bar, 1799 Hurley Drive Suite A, will be hosting a Brewfest pre-party from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday in which guests will be able to meet with visiting brewers, partake in drink specials and grab special swag. The pre-party will be the last opportunity for the purchase of Brewfest tickets in advance.

The 13th Annual Gate City Brewfest is sure to create a buzz among the residents of Southeast Idaho with plenty of finely crafted drinks from many of the brewing icons across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
