Chier Maker’s tip-in with .9 seconds left in the second half lifted Idaho State to an 81-79 win Thursday at Northern Arizona.

Idaho State led by as many as 19 points at 59-40 with 17 minutes left in the game before NAU rallied to tie the game at 79 with 21 seconds remaining. Maker’s heroics later lifted the Bengals to a win.

“Chier made a big play at the end,” Idaho State coach Bill Evans said.

Idaho State shot 56.1 percent from the floor and made 12 3-pointers. Balint Mocsan led the three-point barrage by tying his career high of seven made triples. He led the team with 21 points.

Maker had 15 points and eight rebounds. Brandon Boyd had 13 points and six assists, while Kelvin Jones had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Idaho State (9-12, 5-7 Big Sky Conference) plays Saturday at Southern Utah.
