Adidas is now the official sponsor for Idaho State University, as the athletic department has officially announced the agreement Monday.

    The contract is effective immediately and all Bengal teams will wear Adidas gear beginning this fall.

    “We are excited to begin our partnership with Adidas,” Idaho State director of athletics Jeff Tingey said. “This partnership allows each program greater access and availability to elite level product. Having the Idaho State name partnered with Adidas will not only be a great benefit to the athletic department, but the entire university.

    “Being partnered with Adidas allows Bengal teams to customize all uniforms and it provides a national brand recognition as the two teams in the NCAA men’s basketball championship game, Louisville and Michigan, and Notre Dame, who competed in the BCS championship game, are sponsored by Adidas.”

    Idaho State previously was a Nike-sponsored school. The switch was made because Adidas provided a better overall deal.

    Our partnership with Idaho State allows us to provide footwear, apparel and accessories that help the Bengals’ student-athletes become stronger, lighter and faster,” said Adidas Director of Team Sports Mark Daniels. “We value our relationship with Idaho State and are very excited about the future in Pocatello.

    “Idaho State becomes the seventh school in the Big Sky Conference to partner with Adidas as Weber State, Southern Utah, Eastern Washington, Northern Arizona, Sacramento State and UC Davis are also sponsored by the company.”
