INKOM — Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a 19-year-old Pocatello man found Saturday morning on private property in Inkom.

The Bannock County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Jonas Diaz-Edgeman on Monday.

The body was discovered outside with limited evidence at the scene, authorities said.

Coroner Torey Danner transported the body to Ada County for an autopsy scheduled Tuesday to determine the cause and manner of death.

“My heart is with Jonas’ family and friends as they grieve the unexpected loss of their loved one,” Danner said.

The incident remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and Bannock County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Family members mourned the loss on social media Saturday evening. Diaz-Edgeman’s grandfather described him as “my lil mini me” in a Facebook post asking for prayers for the family, including the young man’s mother, Talia Rae Diaz.

The family is working to make funeral arrangements and are accepting any donations via Cash App.
