POCATELLO — Valley Mission is giving hunters, outdoor enthusiasts and community supporters a chance to win a 2019 Cub Cadet MX 750 EPS UTV while helping move the organization closer to completing its new full-service rescue mission in Pocatello.

Raffle tickets are $20 each or six for $100, with all proceeds going directly toward construction of the new Valley Mission facility. Tickets can be purchased online at www.valleymission.org/events/utv-raffle/. The drawing will be held noon Oct. 9.

With hunting season approaching, the UTV offers a timely opportunity for hunters and outdoorsmen looking for a capable machine for hauling gear, accessing hunting areas, working around the property or tackling Idaho’s winter conditions.

“We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation from one of our community members,” said Karl Pettit, director of Valley Mission. “His support and belief in what we are building is inspiring. This raffle gives someone the opportunity to win a great UTV while helping us take another important step toward opening the doors of this new facility.”

Valley Mission purchased the former Metro Gym and Spa in 2020 and has been transforming the building into a comprehensive rescue mission designed to bring critical services together under one roof.

When completed, the facility will include a food pantry, 18-bed emergency shelter, commercial kitchen and dining area, medical clinic, administrative offices, a 16-bed transformational living program and office space for up to five local partner agencies.

The total project cost is estimated at approximately $2.6 million, with Valley Mission now just over $600,000 away from raising the funds needed to complete the project.

“We can see the finish line, and that is incredibly exciting,” Pettit said. “Every ticket purchased helps move us closer to a facility that will provide food, safe shelter, practical resources and opportunities for people to begin rebuilding their lives.”

Construction continues at the facility, with crews working toward opening the new food pantry this fall and the emergency shelter by winter.
