— Load ‘em Barrel Races — Saturday and Sunday — Load ‘em in the Dark Cattle Company is hosting a weekend of barrel racing at the Bannock County Event Center’s Indoor Arena. — Children’s Wellness Wiggle — Saturday — Southeastern Idaho Public Health is hosting the annual Wellness Wiggle at the Portneuf Wellness Complex on Saturday. Stop by between 10 a.m. and noon for activities, raffle prizes and to get connected with children’s support services. More information will be released on Southeastern Idaho Public Health’s webpage.

— Pocatello Downs — Saturday — Bring the family to the race track for Pocatello Downs. There will be stick horse races for the kids and Idaho State Police will visit to promote Idaho Racing. Gates open at noon and the first post time is 1 p.m. Admission is $5, and children 12 and younger get in free. Concessions will be available.

— Load ‘em Team Roping and Barrel Racing— Wednesday — Finally, it’s Wednesday: Time for Load ‘em in the Dark Cattle Company’s regular Wednesday night team roping, presented by Courtesy Ford and Lincoln. Plus, barrel racing and pole bending will be at the upper outdoor arena from 6 to 10 p.m. Team roping is held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Indoor Arena. Admission is free. — Pocatello Downs — May 25-26 — Don’t miss the last weekend of horse races until July. Bust out your Hawaiian shirts for the races on May 25. — Load ‘em Memorial Day Team Roping — May 26-27 — Trails West Trailers presents Load ‘em in the Dark Cattle Company’s Memorial Day weekend team roping event.  Facility updates: Construction was completed on the portion of the Portneuf Greenway’s Connecting Communities trail that connects the Portneuf Wellness Complex to the trail system.
