The University of Idaho Extension will offer a course on home food preservation. 

This hands-on class will be offered in two locations.

There will be courses at the Jefferson Extension office, 210 Courthouse Way Suite 180 in Rigby on Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

And courses will also be at the Bannock Extension office, 10560 N. Fairground Roads in Pocatello on Thursdays at 6 p.m.

Attendees can pay $75 for a series or $15 for a class.

The schedule for the Jefferson Extension is: 

 — March 1: Introduction — Required.

 — March 8: High-acid water bath canning.

 — March 15: Low acid pressure canning.

 — March 22: Freezing, dehydrating and freeze-drying.

 — March 29: Pickling and preserves.

The schedule for the Bannock Extension is: 

 — March 2: Introduction — Required.

 — March 9: High-acid water bath canning.

 — March 16: Low acid pressure canning.

 — March 23: Freezing, dehydrating and freeze-drying.

 — March 30: Pickling and preserves.
